Top six gifts for expecting moms

With another little girl on the way, I’ve been doing a lot of window shopping lately. As an expecting mom I feel like I always have people asking me what I need or want for the little one and I remember how daunting it was before I had kids to figure out what to get any of my mom friends.  That being said, I gathered together my top six favorite wish list items to help out anyone who has trouble finding gifts for those expecting mamas. Some of these are items I have used personally and love, others are recommendations that I absolutely intend to try out.

Binxy Baby Shopping Cart Hammock

Before Finley was born, the idea of shopping with a baby never even occurred to me and it wasn’t until after I experienced it that I realized how difficult it can be when you don’t have the right gear. Those child seats in the shopping carts are not made for little babes, especially ones that can’t even hold themselves up properly. I remember trying to prop her up in the seat using blankets until finally giving up and just carrying her throughout the store. Using her infant carrier wasn’t an option either because we didn’t have one (we opted for the Graco 4-in-1), plus that isn’t even safe.

So, the other day, while I was scrolling through Instagram, I came across the Binxy Baby Shopping Cart Hammock and knew instantly that I needed it for baby #2. It’s a little hammock that just snaps onto the cart and includes a buckle to keep your child locked in safely. Not only is it safe and convenient, but it’s a products for moms made by a mom who was having the same issue we all are. I’ve seen so many recommendations for this product and I loved reading their story. Plus, if you use my coupon code you can get 10% off your purchase.

Graco 4Ever 4-in-1 Car Seat

I’m in love with this car seat and I really don’t think I could say it enough. We received this as a gift during my pregnancy with Finley and we’ve been using it since the day we brought her home from the hospital. What I love is that it grows with her and I don’t have to worry about finding a new seat for each stage of her childhood. It’s also super easy to clean. We just pulled it out the other day, washed all the components, and then buckled it right back into the car.

The one thing I will say is that this is NOT an infant carrier. If you are looking for the convenience of popping your kid in and out of the car without unbuckling, then this probably won’t work for you. This wasn’t a major issue for us, but I do understand why it would turn people off because it can be a hassle at times.

Milk Snob Cover

I have been following this brand on Instagram for over a year now. Plus, I just recently saw they were on an episode of Shark Tank. The Milk Snob Cover can be used for so many things, from a car seat cover to a nursing cover and they provide the cutest designs possible. I decided not to get this item with Finley because I didn’t have an infant carrier and I thought that was its only use…it’s not. We definitely plan on buying one this time around.

Boba Baby Wrap

This is probably one of the best purchases I made during my last pregnancy. I hated the idea of being confined to one place while Finley was sleeping or not having full use of my arms while carrying her around. The Boba Baby Wrap allowed me to keep her close and still be able to get stuff done around the house whether she was sleeping or awake. Plus, it is so comfortable I would sometimes forget I was even wearing it. Check out this article, from The Babble Out, on finding the right baby carrier for you.

Magic Baby Bullet

My daughter does not like store-bought baby food, no matter how many times I’ve tried to feed it to her. Since she was about 4 months old we’ve been giving her tastes of food we cook and I think got accustomed to the flavors we use. The Magic Baby Bullet has made it easy for me to take left overs and turn them into little baby meals for her to eat at a later time. Not only is it fun to create your own baby food recipes, but it’s a good feeling to watch your kid eat and enjoy the food you make yourself.

Mint & Arrows Swaddle Sack

This is another one of those “made for moms by moms” products from an Etsy shop called Mint & Arrows.. These swaddle sacks are such a stylish solution for those parents who want to swaddle their babies, but can’t really get the technique down. They also have so many different prints to choose from so it’s easy to find something that matches your style.

I hope you find this list helpful. I would love what products are on your wish list. What are your baby must haves?
