DIY: Copper Pumpkin Decor

15 Pumpkin Decor DIYs for Fall

Confession time!

I hate carving pumpkins. I get all excited about the idea of it, but I find the actual act of carving a pumpkin boring and tedious. Plus, they rot so quickly afterward.

So, this year I decided to avoid the carving and went with paint instead.

I liked the idea of still having real pumpkins and I knew I wanted copper in my fall decor, so these tiny white pumpkins were a must. I chose copper because I wanted something that would last the entire Autumn season, not just Halloween.

This project took some work, but it was a lot of fun and I think they turned out beautifully!

Copper Speckled White Pumpkin

What you need:

White pumpkin
copper paint
wax paper
tooth brush
gloves (optional)

This is one you may want to do outside, since you wont have full control over where the paint is going. Dip the bristles of the toothbrush into the paint. Holding your pumpkin by the stem, point your toothbrush, bristles down, at your pumpkin. Slowly pull your finger over the bristles, flicking the paint onto the pumpkin. You will start to see little freckles of paint cover the pumpkin. Repeat the process until you get the desired amount of speckles. Place pumpkin on wax paper to dry.
